About the Role : Culmen International is seeking aDeputy Director to support The Strengthening Systems for HealthSecurity Activity (SSHS) in Lima, Peru.
The Strengthening Systemsfor Health Security Activity (SSHS) aims to help the Government ofPeru build robust capabilities to better prevent, swiftly detect,and optimally respond to infectious diseases and other healththreats to ensure national and global health security.
To do so,this Activity aims to improve Peru's GHS capabilities, whileadopting a One Health approach, by addressing technical gaps inthree priority areas through the following objectives : 1.
Improvingthe Prevention of Infectious Diseases through the Reduction ofDisease Transmission from Animals to Humans (Zoonotic Diseases);
2.Improving the Detection of Infectious Disease through ImprovedDisease Surveillance Systems; 3. Improving the Response toInfectious Disease Outbreaks through a Stronger Health SecurityWorkforce.
What You'll Do in Your New Role : The Deputy Directorwill serve as the Director's alter-ego and be responsible for theoverall operations of this Activity.
The Deputy Director reportsdirectly to the Director and will take a leadership role inensuring technical implementation of high impact, proveninterventions and ensuring the Activity meets stated goals andreporting requirements.
The Deputy Director supports the Director,acts for the Director as needed, and carries out any other tasksassigned by the Director to ensure proper management of thisActivity.
The Deputy Director will be responsible foroperationalizing all aspects of the implementation of thisActivity. The Deputy Director would be responsible for alloperations including administration, logistics, procurement,budgeting, finance and compliance, property, and oversight of theSmall Grants Fund.
The Deputy Director must ensure thatimplementation of this Activity is in accordance with USGregulations and procedures and the specifications determined in theCooperative Agreement.
This must include ensuring that allprocurement processes are fair and transparent, reviewing financialcompliance, and monitoring the Innovation Fund and subcontractimplementation.
Required Qualifications : - A degree in businessadministration, executive management, or related fields ispreferred. - Relevant experience managing the implementation andoperations of complex projects with similar budgets and scope ispreferred.
