Join us to make positive change by helping build a better world where every person is free to move and pursue their dreams.What you'll be able to do:Architect the Future: Define and own the BareMetal architecture for our ECUs ensuring robustness, scalability, and performance optimization.Lead Technical Execution: Specify requirements, design, implement, and test both BareMetal and RTOS low-level software for creating a scalable platform. Develop multicore, time/safety critical software architectures. Work with/resolve ambiguity in requirements/specifications/designs. Create elegant, efficient real-time software components and interfaces.Mentor and Empower: Guide and mentor other firmware engineers, providing technical expertise, fostering collaboration, and empowering them to deliver exceptional results.Champion Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with multidisciplinary teams, including hardware, software, validation and systems engineers, to drive system-level integration and ensure seamless compatibility with vehicle computing infrastructures.Drive Innovation: Design and implement ISO26262-compliant software running on a distributed embedded system with multiple microcontrollers with a focus on creating re-usable software designs/components. Develop software component testing methodologies and implementations to ensure maturity/stability/release readiness.Ensure Quality: Develop comprehensive test plans and perform thorough testing to validate firmware functionality, stability, and performance under various conditions, including low power modes. Work with hardware and debuggers at a bench and HIL level to verify software operation. Define system-level power/compute/communication requirements and implement solutions that allow different applications to achieve different combinations of configurations.The minimum requirements we seek:10+ years of relevant experience in embedded design, using C/C++.Experience with BareMetal and RTOS environment.Experience with JIRA/Confluence or a similar system for tracking inputs/results.Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals including circuit analysis and design.Preferred Requirements:Highly collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.Experience in driver development and RTOS integration.Experience with software build tools like Bazel, Scons, CMake, etc.Experience with fundamental hardware components on PCB and their analysis tools.Ability to write testing scripts using scripting languages (Python).Fluent in software fundamentals including software design and maintainability.Hands-on experience in hardware bring-up, system debugging, and code optimization.You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply.As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice.
