The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour).
Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.Job SummaryIn this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts.
Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.Major ResponsibilitiesPerforming the duties of a lead engineer in either an area, coordinating and directing a variety of disciplines, or as a Project Field Engineer, coordinating all activities related to the operation of assigned operating section.Proactively engaging with their teams' development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback.Leading construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline.Coordinating with design on constructability issues.Reviewing material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials.Possessing responsibility for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting.Ensuring zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.Possessing responsibility for coordinating between Construction and Startup to ensure the various system walkdowns are performed, interfacing with the Startup Specialist as required to support component/system turnover and assuming responsibility (as required) for area turnover coordination as determined by the PFE.Reviewing and approving inspection test plans.Coordinating reviews of subcontractor submittal.Education And Experience RequirementsRequires bachelor's degree related to the position (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge And SkillsKnowledge of multiple technical engineering disciplines relating to the construction of heavy industrial projects.Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.Knowledge of Bechtel's "Zero Accidents" safety program.Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.Knowledge of current industry design standards.Fluent in written and spoken English (preferred).Total Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of engineers and beyond!
