Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP)
Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America's largest gold mine.
The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour).
Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.
Job Summary
In this role, you will monitor work practices daily on a field project and advise superiors of observed or anticipated labor problems.
You will support staffing plans, wage trend studies, and the development and presentation of craft training and orientation programs.
Your work will contribute to positive workplace relationships by facilitating communication and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
Major Responsibilities
Performing research and developing statistical information and studies on issues such as productivity, labor union or construction industry trends and practices (Functional Role).
Documenting and maintaining files associated with jurisdictional work assignments (LR) and keeping records on investigations about employee misconduct.
Extracting information from labor union contracts and prepares wage bulletins or wage trend studies.
Following labor contract negotiation proceedings and disseminates information on progress.
Maintaining records on contract expiration data.
Monitoring work practices daily on a field project and advising superior of observed and/or anticipated labor problems.
Assisting with the development and presentation of craft training and orientation programs for manual employees and their supervisors, such as onboarding, work rule enforcement, and grievance/complaint procedures for craft professionals.
Developing knowledge of practical application of labor laws, equal employment/affirmative action legislation and related government policies.
Education And Experience Requirements
Requires bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations, Law, Human Resources or Administration, and 1 year of experience related to the position.
Required Knowledge And Skills
Experience in developing plans and implementing processes and procedures.
Knowledge of the current legal – labor regulations of the general labor regime and special regime of civil construction, as well as in the labor legal regulations of Safety and Health at Work and Labor Supervision.
Knowledge of collective agreements signed by civil construction branch.
Intermediate spoken and written English level (preferred).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
High level of personal integrity.
