Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
The Consultant Architect is a part-time,
on-call position responsible for a variety of job responsibilities including meeting with clients, conducting site surveys, and ensuring compliance with international and local codes. The architect will coordinate with the design manager and design team to resolve any multi-trade issues and clashes identified in project submittals.
Key responsibilities:
- Review the Client's Program of Requirements as per RFP and other information furnished by the Client.
- Review applicable statutes, regulations, codes, and by-laws with the authorities having jurisdiction.
- Coordinate and collaborate with integrated teams of architects, engineers, planners, and interior designers.
- Attend Project Kick-off meetings and site investigations. Aid with client engagement to obtain necessary reports.
- Conduct Building Assessments and provide detailed reports based on code compliance and client needs.
- Review scopes of work, specifications, and plans to ensure project design milestones and deliverable dates are met.
- Ensure all outstanding design issues are resolved and provide solutions to architects and engineers.
- Provide input for the development and implementation of design and construction standards.
- Provide Design Review services across all design phases.
- Provide basic drawings including sketches, 2D and 3D Drawings, and construction details.
- Provide signed and sealed construction drawings, specifications, and required documentation.
- Act as a representative of Planate during project construction meetings.
- Validate contractor's mark-ups and changes applicable to the drawings post-construction.
- Provide services related to the project including progress meetings and securing necessary approvals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Design Manager.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
- Must be a licensed Architect.
- Knowledgeable in office automation systems and software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- At least 12 years of experience in planning and development of new concepts for long-range recapitalization programs.
- Extensive experience applying fundamental engineering concepts across architecture and engineering fields.
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
