Our commitment to partnerships at every level and our multidisciplinary approach enable us to have a lasting impact on the individuals, communities, and countries we serve–improving lives for millions.FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) based in Lima, Peru to support an anticipated USAID-funded project aimed at strengthening the organizational capacities of current and future local implementing partners in Peru. The project will assess organizational capacities in close collaboration with local partners, co-create institutional strengthening plans, and provide technical assistance to improve priority areas for improvement. This project is anticipated to last five years, between 2025-2029.Employment is contingent upon successful award of the project to FHI 360, as well as USAID approval of the finalist.Job Summary:The Deputy Chief of Party will report to the Chief of Party and assist him/her with the management and implementation of the project and coordination of technical, administrative and reporting functions. In select instances, and in consultation with project leadership, the DCOP will represent the project when the COP is unavailable. S/he will provide key day-to-day oversight of project operations and will oversee a team of senior finance and administrative staff to ensure that activities are implemented on schedule and within budget. The successful DCOP candidate will have strong project management credentials, demonstrable technical skills, and previous experience in meeting the legal, administrative, financial, operational and technical requirements of USAID.Position Requirements:Requires a Master's degree in a directly relevant field from an accredited university;Must have at least eight (8) years of relevant work experience with increasing responsibility, at least four (4) years of which working with programs or business activities that are of a similar scope and/or scale to this program;Prior experience strengthening local organizations and ecosystems to improve programmatic performance preferred, with experience in Peru or similar regional contexts preferred;Demonstrated leadership and skills related to program management, including budget and personnel management, motivating and supervising team efforts, solid performance management, including work planning, implementation, and achieving success in complex activities;Demonstrated knowledge of USAID rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to project and program compliance and reporting;Demonstrated ability to successfully manage client and stakeholder relationships, with a high level of organizational, communication and problem solving skills;Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, subcontractors, consultants, and recipients of assistance;Ability to promote and uphold principles of inclusion, with regard to gender, disabilities, and other marginalized identities;Regional experience working in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) required; specific experience in Peru preferred;Well-developed written and oral communication skills;Fluency in English and Spanish required.This job posting summarizes the main duties of the job.
