Job Description:
Responsible for maintaining the quality and accuracy of data loaded into the Risk Data Mart (RDM) to support Credit Risk Infrastructure (CRI) and Risk Analytics (RA) departments' reporting, monitoring, and analytics requirements.
Strategy and Planning
Understand the business needs of different teams in CRI, RA, and other relevant Risk departments and propose solution enhancements that will benefit the majority of the data users.
Identify data, clarify definitions, and establish the mapping rules of data being loaded to the RDM and ensure this information is maintained in new and/or existing documentation.
Review new/enhancement product papers from Business Units and provide input on data requirements to facilitate Credit/Market Risk Weighted Asset (RWA) and Single Counterparty Exposure Limit (SCEL).
Work together with Risk teams to ensure that data mapped into the RDM meets Basel IRB Advanced requirements.
Support the planning for monthly BAU reporting cycle activities together with team members, IT, and the relevant business users and monitor that all planned activities are completed successfully in a timely manner.
Support Risk teams on the usage of data from RDM (e.g., RWA processing, Portfolio monitoring, scorecards monitoring, SCEL, etc.).
Lead focus projects and ensure the implementation is delivered with quality within the stipulated timeframe.
Business Performance and Management
Raise Change Requests (CRs) for RDM Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) rules change before sending to IT for implementation.
Perform UAT for implemented CRs to ensure data from all upstream sources are properly tested before deployment to production environment.
Identify data quality and data governance related issues, promptly highlight to the Data Owners, and track progress for resolution.
Perform investigation on RDM data issues highlighted by the downstream data users and monitor for the closure of issues.
Responsible for Data Integration from Confidentialties/Subsidiaries/Branches to RDM for Group Risk reporting.
Support data integration to RDM.
Work with other teams in Credit Risk Infrastructure to confirm data requirements from new systems to be mapped into the RDM.
Work together with new system project implementation teams to document data requirements and other interface file requirements into Interface Definition document.
Raise CRs to IT team to map data from the new system into RDM and ensure UAT is successful before the new system goes live.
Work together with teams within and outside of Group Risk on Big Data/Machine Learning related projects.
Support extraction of data from CRI's historical file server to Big Data platform for machine learning models and other risk data analytics.
People Management
Provide guidance to junior team members on how to maintain the integrity and quality of data loaded to Risk Data Mart (RDM) for CRI, RA, and/or downstream use and enhancement of processes for operational efficiency within CRI, Group Risk, and/or other Divisions.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensures the department's operations are in compliance with Group, local, and regional regulations.
Ensures the data required for regulatory reports submission are ready for usage as per agreed SLA.
Qualifications:
Qualification: Degree in Computer Science / IT / MIS / Finance from a reputable university.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in data warehouse/data mart implementation and operations.
Minimum 2 years of experience in project management; added advantage if Risk related projects.
Skillsets:
Mandatory: EG / SAS: Base.
Understanding data warehouse/data mart implementation and operations.
Good knowledge in Data Management and Data Governance processes/controls.
Fundamental understanding of ETL concept and design; ability to write.
