POSITION SUMMARY - Thisposition is based in Belgium, Peru, Indonesia, Cambodia orPhilippines Conservation International (CI) is seeking a GrantManager,
who will be responsible for supporting CI staff and fieldteams in the maintenance of CI's public donor portfolio throughengagement with public bilateral and multilateral donors.
Theposition will ensure that all administrative and financial aspectsof grants and contracts management (including reporting) areperformed efficiently and to a high standard of quality, throughthe entire project lifecycle.
This position will play an integralrole in ensuring that CI's portfolio of publicly funded grants andcontracts complies with donor requirements as well as internalrequirements, with an emphasis on reporting quality andstrengthening internal grant management capacity.
The Grant Managerprovides strategic, expert guidance to CI programs while developinginfluential and beneficial relations with public donors and isresponsible for ensuring quality stewardship of existing accountsin the portfolio.
The position will be based in CI's Global PublicPartnerships (GPP) division. The Grant Manager will also providekey support to the GPP team by ensuring the integrity of data inmultiple grants and contracts database(s), data analysis, andtimely reporting on active projects to division leadership and CIleadership.
This position reports to the US-based Vice President ofthe Grants Management & Delivery team. This position does notmanage staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Oversee a portfolio of 15-20active public projects (funded up to $10,000,000) from a variety ofdonors, with a focus on European donors.
- Lead project-relatedcommunication between CI and donors during the project lifecycle.Manage correspondence with donors regarding implementation, audits,and reporting.
- Organize and manage the project reporting processto ensure CI delivers on all reporting commitments to the donor.Monitor reporting schedules and assist field teams in meetingdeadlines.
Submit technical and financial reports to donors. -Review and edit interim and final reports, budget narratives, andannual work plans submitted by CI, ensuring compliance with donorrequirements.
Assess technical inputs in reports (includingPerformance Indicators, Key Activities, Accomplishments, StaffingUpdates, Gender / DEI Updates, Communications, and ProjectChallenges) to meet requirements for content and format.
Ensureinputs are aligned to goals and objectives outlined in donoragreements and contracts. - Collaborate with CI's Awards ManagementServices (AMS) and Grants and Contracting Unit (GCU) on financialreports to donors.
- Ensure all relevant information about donorswithin Account Lead portfolios is entered and updated in internaldatabases such as Raiser's Edge, on a weekly basis.
- Organize andlead kick-off and close-out meetings for active grants andcontracts, including support on project close-out and internal datamanagement.
- Advise Project Leads and Project Finance Leads ondonor stewardship throughout the course of the grant or contract toaddress donor needs.
Strategize with donor and field teams toovercome challenges in project implementation. - In collaborationwith PDM (Project Delivery & Monitoring), ensure implementationteams are reasonably equipped with internal resources and supportto meet project deliverables.
Assess and approve amendments toAgreements for active projects (change in project scope,performance period, staffing, and budget) in collaboration withAwards Management Services (AMS) staff.
Additional Responsibilities- Align with the GPP Outreach team around collaborationopportunities or events with key donors that may arise duringproject implementation.
Collaborate with the Outreach team on thekick-off process for new projects. - Manage micro-assessment andaudit process for active projects,
collaborating with AMS and GCUto ensure timely responses to donors and auditors.
Maintain dataintegrity in databases utilized by CI, including PowerBI, RE, andBusiness World; includes the creation and management of monitoringsystems and PowerBI dashboards utilized by GPP.
Other duties asassigned by supervisor. WORKING CONDITIONS - Full-time permanentposition. - Hybrid working schedule, with 2 days of work in theoffice per week as a general rule.
Some occasional internationaltravel can be expected. - Ability to work alternative hours tomeet, consult, and advise staff in multiple time zones.
Ability towork extended hours to meet deadlines. QUALIFICATIONS Required - ABachelor's degree in environmental studies, public policy,international relations / development studies, or natural resourcemanagement.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience.
- Strongprogram management skills, writing, and oral skills. - Basicknowledge of donor institutional frameworks.
- Experience withnetworking, developing, and managing partnerships across a range ofstakeholders. - Good understanding of conservation, development,and political issues in the United States and globally.
- Strongproven interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. -Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment that requirescollaboration and networking with others in dispersed locations.
- Comfortable managing multiple duties and adapting to changingpriorities. - Service focus. Courteous, tactful, and proven abilityto work effectively with others.
- Ability to work under generalsupervision and take initiative to solve problems under thesupervisor's direction. - Willingness to travel (less than 20% oftime).
