Candidates must be able to provide proof of their eligibility to work in those countries during application phase" JOB PURPOSE As part of the IM Global Strategic Direction ******** , the IM team in the Americas Region implement activities to support three strategic objectives:
Strategic Objective 1 : Enable IFRC services through enhanced coordination, alignment and (IM) capacities.
Strategic Objective 2: Develop and maintain robust IM solutions, frameworks, processes, and procedures.
Strategic Objective 3: Inform decisions with robust evidence and analysis.
The Information Management Officer will support the implementation of regional activities to enhance the strategic objectives by conducting required data collection, analysis, and management to serve as inputs for anticipatory actions, risk analysis, and impact assessments to inform decision making in emergency operations and programmes led by Health, Disasters, Climate and Crises (HDCC) Unit.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ongoing IM support to HDCC Unit: - Maintain operational databases and regional IM products hosted in the GO Platform and IM Americas Team, including emergency operations. The IM Officer will also provide IM support for HDCC peers and emergency operations, such as historical data and information, infographics, maps, dashboards, data collection mechanisms, among other types of support.
- Provide ongoing IM support related to emergency operations and projects in HDCC Unit with information products to be used for operational level, including the collection, management, analysis and visualization of data and information to support decision making and reporting.
- Develop required tools and data collection exercises for visualizing regional preparedness and capacity for emergency response including IM Capacities and overall Institutional Preparedness indicators.
Develop and ensure that risk analysis is readily available for decision-making in emergency operations and programmes.
- Conduct risk and vulnerability analysis at NS/country level related to events on flooding, drought, civil unrest, etc.

- Conduct IM exercises on crisis categorization, disaster briefs, scenario planning, and act as focal point for deeper dives into specific crises.
Regional Migration Strategy: - Contribute to the regional long-term migration strategy through coordination with regional partners on monitoring and analysing data on migration routes, flows, humanitarian assistance, and other relevant factors to inform strategic decision making.
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of a regional migration platform to monitor migration flows, report on humanitarian assistance provided by the Red Cross/Red Crescent movement in the Americas Region and provide relevant and timely information for decision-making.
- In collaboration with the Migration and Social Inclusion Coordinator and technical sectors (CEA, PGI, PMER, etc.) support National Societies with harmonization of data collection for monitoring and reporting on humanitarian assistance provided for migration as inputs for the regional migration platform.

Education Bachelor's degree relevant to the position
Masters degree relevant to the position, preferred

Experience - 3+ year(s) experience with graphic design and data visualisation with the ability to translate complex digital information into clear and attractive graphic representations (Microsoft Power Bi, Kobo, Adobe Illustrator, other similar)
- 2+ year(s) experience with GIS tools and ability to produce basic maps in order to visualise geographic information (QGIS, other similar)
- Strong background in data and information management and informatics
- Strong computer literacy skills with advanced skills in MS Excel
- Strong background in developing xls forms and mobile data collection tools (Kobo, ODK, other similar)
- Experience within the humanitarian field, preferred on disaster response and project management
- 1 (+) years of experience within the RCRCM

Knowledge, Skills and Languages - Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential, with the ability to craft an analytical narrative from data findings
- Strong interpersonal skills and diplomacy in order to manage relationships with many stakeholders and in a complex situational environment
- Analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to synthesize, order, process and prioritize large amounts of information
- Strong attention to detail in both listening and visualization design
- Ability to take initiative to create new processes from scratch and act to fill identified gaps
- Skills in database management, managing complex datasets and data visualization
- Good domain of information technology is an advantage
