RS Metrics Colombo is looking for an outstanding Software Engineer and successful candidates must have a strong work ethic, passion to be part of a category-defining startup, and the drive to not only meet, but exceed the set targets. Reporting directly to the Director/CEO in Asia they will get involved in the products/platform development cycle from requirement analysis, feasibility study, building and monitoring products/platform, ensuring security and scalability, product deployment to post-deployment support.
Key Responsibilities:
Align with the Product Function and the Product Roadmap for RS Metrics PaaS (and the key apps build on top of that – i.e. ESGSignals, AssetTracker, EVTracker, MetalSignals and Custom Event Driven Monitoring etc)
Design and develop enterprise level web application and REST APIs using industry best practices and development methodologies.
Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide scalable solutions in alignment with technology strategy and architecture
Work with the other software development team members from beginning to the end of the product life cycle in order to produce high level B2B and/or B2C applications
Help to architect, develop and maintain end-to-end integration with our homegrown applications and various cloud platforms
Participate in design discussions and drive SDK features, API and platform development
Realize the organization's vision and partner with data science and analytics teams to create the world's leading geo-spatial analytical platform and vertically focused products
Ensure milestones are met, keep the performance and health of the product development process at a reasonable pace
Ensure all products are secured to the highest standard and properly maintained
Requirements, background, and experience:
A maniacal focus on delivering the state-of-the-art software products/platform
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
Minimum 3 or more years of experience in software related product development (B2B or consumer software)
Sound knowledge in programming languages like Java, Python, HTML 5, NodeJS, Javascript and TypeScript
Expertise in frameworks, technologies and libraries such as Web APIs, Web Services, Spring Boot 2, Spring MVC, QueryDSL, Angular 11+, Angular Material, Hibernate, Spring Data JPA, Spring Data Rest, Spring Security Oauth2, Spring Data Redis, Spring Data Mongo, JPA auditing with hibernate envers, Openlayers, GDal, Keycloak with identity management
Familiarity with DevOps practices in deploying Java, Spring Boot and Angular based web applications using Maven, Node and other relevant build tools.
Experience in using Docker, Docker Containers, Images and Docker Compose in production and development environments.
Expertise in version controlling and Repository management with Git using Gitblit, GitHub, GitLab and BitBucket
Knowledge in using different database technologies like MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra and PostgresSQL.
Experience in software test cases and unit test development with Junit and MockMVC testing.
Experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with google services
Experience in AWS and Azure platforms
Thorough knowledge on SDK, mobile applications, APIs, platform systems and agile product development environment
Knowledge on data structure, security and information privacy
Strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration and design thinking capabilities
Outstanding intellectual ability and ability to process and synthesize information
Be able to work in a fast moving environment and deliver quality work
