Sr. Staff Engineering Platform Manager in Palo Alto, CaliforniaThe Ford Model E Infotainment Platform Team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our talented team of engineers in developing cutting-edge infotainment platform experiences on Linux and Android Automotive OS. You will be expected to pivot quickly on new ideas. Failing fast will be normal.What you'll be able to do:Lead, mentor and inspire a team of highly skilled software engineers specializing in Firmware, Bootloader, BSP, Linux, OTA, Platform Security, and Android Automotive OS.Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture that embraces innovation and continuous improvement.Define and drive the technical roadmap for infotainment platform features and integration, aligning with overall product strategy and market trends.Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet performance, reliability, and scalability requirements.Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define product specifications and ensure successful execution.Champion engineering best practices, including code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, particularly in the areas of multimedia frameworks, automotive infotainment, and Android development.Manage team performance, conduct performance reviews, and identify opportunities for professional growth and development.The minimum requirements we seek:B.S. in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.3+ years of experience managing and leading engineering teams in the automotive or consumer electronics domain.10+ years of hands-on experience in software development.Experience working on Linux and Android.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for innovation.You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!Preferred Qualifications:M.S. in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.Experience negotiating with hardware and software vendors.Experience in developing and integrating different platform domains like Firmware, BSP, Platform Security, Hypervisor, Virtualization, Android Automotive OS, Yocto, OTA, Telematics & Logging.Board bring-up experience.What you'll receive in return:As part of the Ford family, you'll enjoy excellent compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that includes generous PTO, retirement, savings and stock investment plans, incentive compensation, and much more.
