Job Summary:In this role, you will assist in interpreting and integrating health and safety requirements into project planning, design, construction, and operations.
You will provide input and technical guidance, assist with communications, track performance trends, and conduct inspections and monitoring.
Your work will help keep employees safe by contributing to continuous improvement of project health and safety.
Major Responsibilities: Assists execution of the safety component of an ESH Program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects.
Assists development and implementation of Safety and Health Management Plans, associated plans and procedures, and training program.
Provides input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups to assure that safety and health requirements are integrated within project planning and execution.
Interprets safety and health requirements and provides guidance on risk assessment and ESH program execution.
Researches issues and regulatory requirements and prepares documentation and reports.
Provides support and guidance for safety studies, risk assessments, and other safety and health reviews.
Participates in emergency response and incident investigation and resolution.
Interfaces and communicates with stakeholders and helps resolve their concerns.
Participates in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Conducts ESH inspections and monitoring to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls and corrective actions, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements.
Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to the following engineering careers is preferred: Mechanical, Industrial, Mining, Environmental, Risk Prevention and 2-5 years of relevant experience or in lieu of degree 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
A minimum of 6 years of experience related to safety management, occupational health and the environment in projects is required Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of ISO 14.001 and ISO 45.0001 standards.
Knowledge of ESH legislation in Peru.
Experience in mining projects.
Implementation of preventive tools: IPERC, PETS, PETARS.
