The Environmental Engineering department at the 'Universidad de Ingenieria y Tecnologia – UTEC', Lima, Peru, invites applications from outstanding individuals for one faculty position.
We anticipate hiring at the Assistant Professorship level, although truly exceptional candidates may be suitable for Associate or Full Professorship levels.Requirements:Proactive candidates holding a degree in Environmental Engineering and a doctorate in areas such as Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a specialization in water treatment.At least 2 journal publications indexed in Scopus (or other relevant databases) in the past 3 years.Fluent in English.The candidate should be able to teach effectively in Spanish at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
If not fluent, she/he is expected to reach Spanish proficiency within 2 years of joining.Excellent written & oral communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience writing grant proposals.Experience with international presentations and/or committees.Affiliated to international professional associations (relevant to the position).Demonstrated interest in working with academic, industry, and/or community partners.Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.Once hired, the successful candidate will be expected to:Develop and teach courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.Advise theses (undergraduate and graduate levels).Obtain competitive external funding.Establish an effervescent cross-disciplinary research program.Lead student chapters (and organizations).Contribute through service to the profession, to the department, and to UTEC.UTEC opened its doors in 2012 and is currently home to over 3400 students and 65 full-time faculty members.
