The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America. Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants.Job Summary:In this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.Major Responsibilities:Performing the duties of a lead engineer in either an area, coordinating and directing a variety of disciplines, or as a Project Field Engineer, coordinating all activities related to the operation of assigned operating section.Proactively engaging with their teams' development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback.Leading construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline.Coordinating with design on constructability issues.Reviewing material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials.Possessing responsibility for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting.Ensuring zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.Possessing responsibility for coordinating between Construction and Startup to ensure the various system walkdowns are performed, interfacing with the Startup Specialist as required to support component/system turnover.Reviewing and approving inspection test plans.Coordinating reviews of subcontractor submittal.Education and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor's degree related to the position (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of multiple technical engineering disciplines relating to the construction of heavy industrial projects.Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes.Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.Knowledge of Bechtel's "Zero Accidents" safety program.Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.Knowledge of current industry design standards.Fluent in written and spoken English (preferred).Diverse teams build the extraordinary:As a global company, Bechtel has long been home to a vibrant multitude of nationalities, cultures, ethnicities, and life experiences.
