Overview:

The Vice President Operations is responsible for providing corporate support and leadership to the six managed hotels in Peru. This role will work in close partnership with all Highgate and ownership function heads and provide leadership, resources, and influence to positively affect the overall performance of the region. This position functions as the business leader for the Latin America market, ensuring achievement of all financial, customer, employee, and owner targets. S/he will be responsible for the professional management of hotel operations to Highgate standards and the highest level of service while maximizing the bottom line. The senior leader will be a dynamic, experienced, and motivated mentor to the Regional General Managers and Executive Team as well as ensuring the hotels are continually in line with and carrying out the strategic goals and direction of the organization. This position will be based in Peru with travel required to six managed hotels in the region.

Responsibilities:

During the first year of operation, works closely with the owning company to ensure a smooth operational management handover and integration of various systems (existing Intursa operating systems, Marriott's and Highgate's).
Provides leadership to the management team making sure they are fully trained on Highgate systems and procedures and working closely with Highgate corporate team.
Develops the strategy for the region and translates the strategy into specific objectives for the region.
Maximizes efficiencies in the region through digitalization and centralization of processes and continuously reviews SOPs.
Leads the creation and subsequent implementation of the strategy in the region and ensures that objectives are met.
Participates in the creation of the global strategy of the group by providing input on the region.

Operations:

Support the Regional General Managers in the execution of their operating plans. Sets short-term and long-range goals in tandem with the Executive Team and Regional General Managers to aid and achieve each property's defined performance metrics.
Serve as a conduit to ensure appropriate resources and talent are brought to bear based on situation/needs.
Utilize property, regional, and centralized corporate services to ensure operational excellence.
Drive financial, operational, guest, and employee results by aligning Peru's execution to global strategy.
Ensure achievement of results (including financial, customer, employee, branding, operating standards, and owner).
Lead the implementation of new initiatives in Latin America, drive alignment, and ensure compliance.

Talent Management:

Together with regional & Corporate HR, responsible for selection, performance management, engagement, development, and elimination of all key function heads.
Responsible for developing regional staff and finding/cultivating new talent in the market.
Lead all Human Capital Planning Processes in the region.

Sales and Revenue Management:

Oversees the implementation of sales, revenue management, and marketing programs in order to achieve and exceed established RevPAR goals.
Together with Highgate CALA Sales & Marketing team and the local sales team, review sales goals and strategies in the region to ensure alignment with the brand business strategy and proper pricing and positioning of the properties in each destination.
Ensures the development of effective revenue management strategies and sets aggressive goals that drive the market's financial performance.
Together with the sales team, leverages Highgate and Marriott's corporate sales engines as well as initiates independent and proactive sales activities when appropriate to drive demands.

Financial Management:

Responsible for developing regional staff and finding/cultivating new talent in the market.
Lead all Human Capital Planning Processes in the region.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related area required.
Graduate degree preferred (e.g., MBA or related degree).
Strategic mindset with proven track record in the successful creation and implementation of a company's strategy.
Proven experience in change management and maximizing efficiencies both at the property and regional level.
Strong operating experience ideally in Latin and/or Central America. Previous experience in Peru is a strong advantage.
Strong regional experience having overseen revenues of at least USD 50 million plus.
Experience managing a 5* property as well as experience overseeing both urban and resort properties. Experience in lifestyle is a strong plus.
Excellent project management skills and ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Must have outstanding strategic planning, consulting, and basic management financial skills.
Fluent in English and Spanish.
Ability to creatively execute against strategy and drive results; can create unique guest experiences and maximize revenue within the brand framework.
Financial management and analytical skills (e.g., ability to analyze P&L statements, develop operating budgets, forecast).
Ability to evaluate business trends, determine applicability, and modify business strategies accordingly.
Ability to take constructive action without relying on direction from others.
