Our services span from initial planning and investment, through start-up and operations.Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP) ProjectLocated 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America's largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.Job SummaryIn this role, you will lead a high-performance team to develop and manage complex Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) project programs. You will assist functional leads to ensure requirements are properly integrated and be responsible for overall project ES&H execution. Your leadership will help achieve ES&H performance expectations, compliance, and continuous improvement.Major ResponsibilitiesManaging global Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) services and establishes strategic objectives, standards, systems, and policy for ESH performance among corporate-based functions, global business units (GBUs), and projects.Supervising EHS personnel and facilitating their development through assignments, coaching, and mentoring.Overseeing and assuring that ESH requirements are properly interpreted by projects and other functions, and integrated in GBU processes, planning, procedures, and training for all three ESH disciplines (including medical).Developing and sustaining the ESH Management System and assuring that it is applied across all functions, GBUs, and projects to continually improve EHS program execution.Has overall responsibility for ESH program development and execution within Bechtel, confirming that corporate functions, GBUs, and projects adhere to ESH requirements, standards, and customer expectations.Managing budgets, schedules, and resources for interpreting and implementing complex ESH requirements, evaluating and applying appropriate ESH principles, and developing suitable plans and methods in compliance with global ESH requirements.Overseeing and reviewing implementation of Bechtel's ESH Policy, Management System, and standards.Confirming ESH emergency preparedness planning and the adequacy of incident investigation and resolution.Conducting audits to confirm ESH compliance with contractual commitments, laws and regulations, environmental permit requirements, and Bechtel standards.Confirming that environmental regulatory submittals, documentation, and actions are completed as required.Education And Experience RequirementsRequires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to environmental, safety, health or science-related discipline, and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge And SkillsCandidate must be skilled and proficient in disciplines related to occupational health, ergonomics, industrial hygiene and other related fields.Skilled and proficient in disciplines of Environmental, Safety and health.Shall have professional understanding of the disciplines, capable of resolving a wide range of issues related to workers safety and health, as well as environmental.Skilled in managing the work efforts of ES&H field supervisors and professionals.Knowledge of national and international ES&H laws/regulations and regulatory/resource agencies permitting processes and responsibilities, industry standards for ES&H compliance, and best management practices for minimizing potential ES&H impacts during project execution.Knowledge of data analysis and trends to advise on planning, preventive and corrective measures.Able to participate in hiring, disciplinary procedures, performance appraisals, and pay reviews.Knowledge of Bechtel standard computer applications.Bilingual English / Spanish at intermediate level is preferred but not required.Skilled in oral and written communication.Total Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of engineers and beyond!
